At Third Wave, we have taken the basic elements of the coffee making process such as the bean type, water, temperature, pressure, flow rate, grinder size and so on that greatly affect the coffee’s chemistry to create curated and specialty drinks that our customers love.

We didn’t want to sell the ‘normal’ flavors and aromas you would expect, we use new techniques and challenged the norms to excite taste buds. Our staff are all trained mixologists who are able to change the elements to suit the customers taste too, making every experience unique.

AMARO

Maybe you have heard of the Amaro or Amarito before, the Italian version. A beverage which consists mainly of coffee and whiskey, fermented with herbs. We wanted to reproduce this experience using specialty coffee, but without the whiskey.

Our signature Amaro served in Third Wave was the result of that. It is a one of a kind recipe developed in house. The first few Amaros were not economically feasible and took up to 2 months to produce. We did our best to make it more cost efficient for the customer and challenged time to produce it within 5 minutes. 

Furthermore, our Amaro is a transforming drink. You can have it alone, but when you squeeze a lime into it, it transforms and tastes way different! As if someone changed the cup in front of you to something else.

7th Heaven

This signature came to be out of our love for the people we serve and the environment we are surrounded by. Seventh Heaven is the new version of a Flat White or Latte that has no added sugar. It’s sweet enough on its own. That’s why it not only tastes good, but also keeps you healthy.

Since we invented Seventh Heaven, we don’t use sugar at Third Wave Café, and our customers don’t ask for it anymore. 

Plus, Seventh Heaven pays back to Mother Earth by using alternative milk, which has lower CO₂ emissions for the environment.

The V60 shows how technical craftsmanship can significantly change a coffee.

V60 is a pour-over method that can be used not only to prepare coffee, but also many other beverages such as cascara, tea or hibiscus. The name V60 is derived from the shape of the cross-section, which looks like the letter V. The 60 represents the acute angle of the V, which is 60 degrees wide. 

This method is a specialty coffee that can make a cup with a lighter body than an Americano or, as some would call it, “more tea-like”. This is a great way to enjoy delicate flavors over a longer period of time, as the portion is less concentrated than a typical Americano or espresso.

Looking for some refreshing alternatives? Voilà! We like to introduce our Happy Forest

Since our clients are not just lovers of coffee, but passionate tea drinkers as well, we wanted to accommodate for that. To enhance the experience, regular tea would not have been enough. We wanted an herbal tea, but no caffeine in this product. Furthermore, tea is served hot most of the time, but we wanted an ice cold tea! 

One that makes you feel good when you drink it. One that will surprise you with its unique taste. One that cools you from the inside on hot days. 

One that you drink because of the taste and the refreshing feeling, not because of a sore throat. Happy Forest is an amazing cold infusion herbal tea that consists mainly of hibiscus, grapes, cherries and petals.

Happy Forest is all of that. We were taught this recipe by our partners from Tchaba, who we like to think of as our mirror in the tea world. So you can expect a lot!

Rooibos has pulp of grapes, lemon and blood orange. It has lots of body that you can feel in every sip! The base, rooibos herbs, is extracted by cold soaking overnight in the refrigerator. 

Drink rooibos, drink herbs and enjoy lots of vitamin C!

Not our signature, but we choose the best for you! Açai Hub is a company owned by a close and dear friend of Third Wave’s founder and we think Third Wave and Açai Hub are both equally passionate about what they do.

We didn’t want to reinvent the wheel, so we decided to bring you the best we could find out there. The founder of Açai Hub travels to Brazil himself to see the quality of the harvested açai berries and guarana extract. So only the best quality gets into your bowl, and you can taste it. 

In addition, the peanut butter and granola used with the açai are homemade. Together with fresh fruit, this makes for a delicious, nutritious superfood. 

OUR BITES

Our lovely customers spend hours in the store enjoying the drinks as well as the riverside scenery outside, as do we as staff and barista.

But after spending so many hours there, we and our customers couldn’t help but get hungry. We needed something to eat, but we are not a restaurant and we don’t do it the way others do.

That’s why we developed delicious and sometimes special savory and sweet snacks to satisfy every craving with pleasure. 

For example, try our Sandos, a Japanese club sandwich that is completely different from any club sandwich you have eaten before. Or you can choose between banana toast or banana bread and experience pure taste without artificial sugar. We’ll let you in on a secret: the crust of the banana bread is the best!
